If you’ve had gestational diabetes, did you have trouble getting the best rate for life insurance?

This really stinks. I’ve been told because I had gestational diabetes two years ago, I will not qualify for the best “Preferred Plus” rate for life insurance. Anyone have a better experience? I am perfectly healthy otherwise. I am not diabetic. (I know gestational makes me predisposed, but I don’t have it now.) I’m also not overweight.
